174 letters and documents, all in Spanish. 172 are handwritten while 2 are printed. All the manuscripts are in contemporary Spanish secretarial hands, and a few have the writers' autographs. 159 items are from Philip II, and all are signed. 52 are signed with the King's autograph signature and 107 with official stamped facsimile signatures. Many of the items have contemporary wax impressions of official seals and also have contemporary endorsements.
